# Messaging rate limits

> Per-account send limits for every messaging channel, tuned to each platform's safety thresholds.

Orbit caps how many messages each connected account can **send**, tuned to each platform's own bot-detection thresholds so your accounts stay safe. These are per **connected account**. Reading and listing are not capped here.

  These protect *your* accounts. Blasting past a platform's limits is how accounts get flagged or banned — Orbit enforces safe ceilings so your agents can't get you in trouble.

## Social DMs & posting

Per connected account:

## Email sending

Per connected mailbox:

## Why mailboxes are "replies only"

Your personal mailbox isn't built for cold outreach — sending sequences from it risks your domain's reputation and deliverability.
