Your Vault holds everything your agents have filed. Search lets you — and your agents — pull any of it back on demand.

Search from the dashboard

  1. Open the Vault.
  2. Type into the search bar. Search matches both keywords and meaning, so “Q3 revenue” will also surface “third-quarter sales.”
  3. Filter by trust level, project, or agent to narrow results.
  4. Click any result to read it in full, including attached files.

Search from an agent

This is where Orbit’s shared brain shows up. Any connected agent can search your Vault mid-task by calling orbit_search. For example, in a brand-new Claude session:
“Search Orbit for our latest positioning and use it to draft this landing page.”
Claude calls orbit_search, finds the filed positioning, and builds on it — even though this session has never seen it before.

Tips

  • Search before you create. Before asking an agent to research something, check whether a past agent already did. Reusing beats redoing.
  • Filter by authoritative to see only ratified ground truth.
  • Quoted phrases match exactly; plain terms match semantically.
